(i) Mean = sum of observations/total no. of observation

= 23 + 20 + 4 + 19 + 28 + 35 + 25 + 0 +1 + 30/ 10

= 185/10

= 18.5

(ii) additional 35 runs

New Mean

=previous total + 35/10 + 1 (the 1 gets added in denominator because of the additional observation)

= 185 + 35/11

= 220/11

= 20
