multiplication .

Calculations ↓

We need to use multiplication in order to get rid of the fraction and solve for x .

Remember that in mathematics we can't just get rid of fractions without altering the maths problem , so we multiply both sides by the denominator of the fraction , which is 2 .

x/2 = 12
