A plantation is a very large field of land where nothing but plants are grown. Most of these plantations were mainly used for trade, buying and selling which led the plantation owners to be financially stable and they probably had much money. A ranch on the other hand was used for livestock/farm animals. Ranches used the land for grazing cattle and other animals. Both plantations and ranches required lots and lots of land and both could be very profitable or very costly.

The main difference between Farm and Plantation is that the Farm is a area of land for farming, or, for aquaculture, lake, river or sea, including various structures and Plantation is a long artificially established forest, farm or estate, where crops are grown for sale.
