This refers to photosynthesis.This is because Photons of energy are absorbed by the chlorophyll for splitting water molecules to electrons and H+.The sunlight energy is also used to generate energy as ATPs, during chemiosmosis.This occurs at light dependent stage.

The H+ is later used to reduce CO2, in presence of ATPs to form a new compound as CHO, fatty acids and proteins back.This takes place in Calvin cycle, at Light independent stage.
