Given


(3x)/(5) + 1 =
(4x)/(15) + 7 ( subtract 1 from both sides )


(3x)/(5) =
(4x)/(15) + 6

Multiply through by 15 to clear the fractions

9x = 4x + 90 ( subtract 4x from both sides )

5x = 90 ( divide both sides by 5 )

x = 18
