Obtain the equation in point- slope form and rearrange into standard form.

y - b = m(x - a)

where m is the slope and (a, b) a point on the line

Here m = 7 and (a, b) = (1, 2)

y - 2 = 7(x - 1) ← in point- slope form

y - 2 = 7x - 7 ( subtract y from both sides )

- 2 = 7x - y - 7 ( add 7 to both sides )

5 = 7x - y , that is

7x - y = 5 ← in standard form
