This is only a short answer space and your question is pretty complex. It also depends on your opinion. I'm sure race relations have progressed since King wrote his letter but I'm not sure by how much. I'm not an expert on race-relations but racial inequality still feels rampant in the United States. Schools, neighborhoods, healthcare still seems pretty segregated: not by laws but by social economic demographics. I think the United States still has a long way to go to realize King's dream. America has changed a lot over the years with more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, faster ways to travel, improved education system. Also the music has changed with hip hop having a heavy influence and the style of clothing becoming more urban, we have also come a long way from racism so there has been a lot that has changed.

Explanation: if this is not the way you want it explained, then i think that its best if you copy and paste the text from the passage they're asking for in the question. in my opinion in society today, it changed and decreased its progression in racial and political, presidential, and economic ways. we are recently in a battle with the white and black police officers who think they have the right to kill blacks and whites and get away with it, but, the mayor and governor and president changed these laws and things around. officers who are convicted with 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th degree murder are just now starting to get charged. as people are protesting all around the world, officers, and the people of the 1st Responders are hearing us people and are starting to have the ability to trust the ones who help the people around the world. on the other hand, the white supremacy voted for our recent and continuing president Donald j. Trump who was raised by his father who was apart of what they called the KKK, When Obama was in office, we didn't have these problems. these people around the world who judges he color of someone elses skin whether they are black or white, only reacts to the way their ruler treats their country and how they were raised. we are starting to get to the point where its going to get worse and get to the way it was in slavery.
