My Answer:

The main goal of OPEC members amidst others is to be able to set global and international oil prices.

  • OPEC stands for Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. It is made up of member state whose economy is centered on the sale of oil.
  • To be a member of OPEC, oil must be the major export from such country. It is made up of states such as Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.

  • OPEC is often right tagged a cartel because its activities seeks to monopolize the oil industry.
  • It was formed in 1960 by agreements made by Venezuela and Saudi-Arabia oil chief.
  • OPEC aims to achieve its goals by controlling production and rationing output from the member states.
