Answer:

The governor of state A earns $ 166,165, and the governor of state B earns $ 116,555

Explanation:

the governor of state A salary = x+ 49610

the governor of state B salary = x

together : 282720 = x+49610 +x

282720 = 2x + 49610 subtract 49610 from both sides

282720-49610 = 2x

233110 = 2x divide by 2

x = 116555

plug in x in the governor of state A salary = x+ 49610 = 116555 + 49610 = 166,165
