Answer: 40

Explanation:

Purple:Red = 8:12

Purple bikes = 8/20 x 100 = 40

Add the ratio: 8 + 12 =20

Divide total bike by that: 100/20 = 5

Multiply each part of the ratio by that:

8 x5 = 40

12 x 5 = 60

40 bikes are purple

60 bikes are red
