a plumber had 2 plastic pipes that were each 9 ft long. he used all of the 2 pipes and cut them into sections that were each 1/10 foot long. how many sections of pipe did he have in all

  1. so 1 section is 0.1 feet long, that is 10 sections per foot(since 0.1*10 = 1)
  2. if you have 9 feet, imagine how many 0.1 feet can fit in it
  3. you can fit 90 sections in 9 feet, since 9 / 0.1 = 90
  4. since you have 2 pipes, multiply 90 by 2, which is 180
  5. so you would have 180 sections
