In "The Duchess and the Jeweller" by Virginia Wolf, Mr. Bacon is compared to a Horse who is neighing. Oliver is also compared to a Hog in his search for the perfect piece of jewelry. He is also compared to an Elephant as having a nose like an elephant and sniffing for new opportunities.
