Explanation:

so first you need to find the area of both semi- circles. To do this you will use the formula 1/2πr^2 since it is half the area of a circle.

So for the smaller semi circle you do 1/2×π×8^2 to get 32πcm^2.

Now for the large semicircle you do 1/2×π×10^2 to get 50πcm^3.

Now you take 50π from 32π to get just the area of the shaded region.

This is 18π or 56.55cm^2
