A large water tank measures 6 feet across and 4 feet high. It is being filled with water at

a rate of 10 gallons per minute. About how many hours will it take to fill the tank if 1
cubic foot of water is about 7.5 gallons? Round to the nearest tenth

First we will find the volume of the tank.

Volume of right cylinder = pi * r² * h

⇒ 3.14 * 6 ² * 4

⇒ 3.14 * 36 * 4

⇒452 . 16 feet³

Now as 1 cubic foot of water is about 7.5 gallons we will and rate 10 gallons per minute.

So, every minute 10/ 7.5 ≅ 1.34 cubic foot is getting filled.

Time taken = 452.16/ 1.34 ≅ 337.43 minutes

Which means 5.62 hours approximately and when rounding to the nearest tenth 5.6 hours.
