for example , for
x^(2)-1 you have the formula (x+1)(x-1), so for
x^(2)-4 you use (x-4)(x+4), and if the result is 0, one of the multiplication therms should be 0

and then you have the solutions:

x+4=0, x = - 4

x-4=0, x = 4

Answer:x=(-4) or x=4

Explanation:

x²-4=0

(x+4)(x-4)=0

(x+4)=0 or (x-4)=0

x=(-4) or x=4
