It’s asking for total and lateral surface area.
Total = 2pi x r x h + 2pi x r to the power of 2
Lateral = 2pi x r x h
For total it would be 2 x pi x 3 x 6 + 2 x pi x 3 to the power of 2 ( pi = 3.14)
For lateral it would be 2 x pi x 3 x 6
Just put that in the calculator and you’ll get your answer
Btw r = radius and radios is the half of something so if you see the line on the base go all the way you know it’s the diameter and not the radius so you would have to divide it by 2 to get your radius.
Total = 131.88
Lateral = 113.04

For finding the surface area of the entire cylinder, we need to use the proper formula which is
SA = 2 \pi r h + 2 \pi r^2. Since the problem already gives us the radius and height, we can easily plug in the numbers. The equation should now look like this:
SA = 2 * 3.14*3*6 +2*3.14*3^2.

After multiplying and adding all the numbers in the formula, we get a surface area of 169.56 yards squared.

For the lateral surface area, we can just subtract the
2 \pi r^2 part from the formula.

SA = 2 * 3.14* 3 *6, which is 113.04 yards squared for the lateral surface area.
