9. Given the perimeter of a triangle P= 5x + 3y - 2 and the length of two of the sides

represented by the following expressions, 2x + 4y - 3 and -x+7y + 4. find an expression for the third side.

Explanation:

Since perimeter = 5x + 3y - 2,

(5x + 3y - 2) - (4y - 3 + -x + 7y + 4)

5x + 3y - 2 - (11y - x + 1)

open the bracket

5x + 3y - 2 - 11y + x -1

6x - 8y - 3
