Mrs. Guzman said that when each of her children earns 3,000 Dojo points in school, she will

give them a prize. Her son Edwin has 1,550 points. Her daughter Isabella has 960 points.
Isabella said that she's closer to the prize because her number has a 9 in its largest place value
and Edwin's number has a 1 in its largest place value and 9 is bigger than 1. Is she correct?

Answer:

No, Isabella is not correct.

Explanation:

Isabella is not correct because the nine in her highest place value is in the hundredths, where as Edwin's highest place value is in the thousandths.
