The answer is 11/8 or 1 3/8

Explanation:

First, you can break both fractions down into 3+1/4-1+7/8.

Second, use 3 subtract 1, you will get 2+1/4-7/8.

To subtract 7/8 you have to make both numbers denominator same.

1/4 will multiply by 2 on the top and the bottom.

After that, you will get 2 2/8-7/8.

2x8=16, 16+2=18

18/8-7/8=11/8 or 1 3/8

I know its gonna be confusing, but this is all I can do, sorry about that. :)
