Explanation:

40% * 69 = markup price

0.4 * 69 = 27.6

Now add it to the wholesale price which is the price the store bought the shoes.

$27.6 + $69 = $96.60

or

100% + 40% = 140%

140% of 69 = ?

1.4 * 69 = $96.60
