Answer:

Joe is 3 and Carole's age is 15

Explanation:

Joe: x

Carole: 5x

5x+x=18

6x=18

x=3

c = 5j

c + j = 18

5j + j = 18

6j = 18

j = 3

c = 5(3) = 15

Answer: Carole is 15, Joe is 3
