The volume (V) of the triangular prism is calculated as

V = Ah ( A is the area of the triangular face and h is the depth )

A =
(1)/(2) bh ( b is the base and h the perpendicular height )

= 0.5 × 5 × 8 = 20 yd² , thus

V = 20 × 7 = 140 yd³
