Answer: a) (3,0.5) b)(28/13, 47/13)

1)7x+4y=23

8x-10y=19

70x+40y=230

32x-40y=76

102x=306

x=306/102=3

7(3)+4y=23

21+4y=23

4y=2

y=1/2

2)Step-by-step explanation:

11x-6y=2

-8x+5y=3

Multiply the first equation by 5 and the second by 6.

55x-30y=10

-42x+30y=18

Now add both of the new equations

13x=28

x=28/13

Now plug it into the first equation to find y

11(28/13)-6y=2

308/13-6y=2

y=47/13
