Explanation:

(2p -1)/5 = (p-1)/3

Using cross products

(2p-1) *3 = (p-1)*5

Distribute

6p-3 = 5p -5

Subtract 5p from each side

6p-5p -3 = 5p-5p -5

p -3 = -5

Add 3 to each side

p-3+3 = -5+3

p =-2
