8 square units , For surface units wouldn’t you just count all the boxes on the top

So I just figured out by counting. The top has 8, which means the bottom also has 8. The sides are 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3

The total is 8 + 8 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 28
