A trapezoid’s top measures 2.2 m, and its height measures 4.0 m. Calculate the measurement of the base if the area of the trapezoid is 13 m²

A = 1/2 (a + b) c

where a and b are the parallel sides and c is the height

We have one parallel sides and the height including the value of the area

Let’s say A = 13

a = 2.2m

h = 4.0 m

Plugging these values, we have;

13 = 1/2(a + 2.2) 4

26 = 4(a + 2.2)

26 = 4a + 8.8

26-8.8 = 4a

4a = 17.2

a = 17.2/4

a = 4.3 m
