Answer:

6.48 sq. meters

Explanation:

Let's split the kite into 2 parts. The bottom triangle and the top triangles.

Let's find the values of the bottom two triangles first. Both triangles have the same lengths and widths so their area will be the same too. The equation for the area of the triangle is (L*W)/2. The length is 21 and the width is 18. (21*18)/2=189. So since there are 2 triangles, you do 189*2= 378.

Let's find the values of the top two triangles. Since both of them have the same length and width, their areas will be the same too. Since we know the equation, let's use that to solve this problem. The length is 15 and the width is 18. (15*18)/2=135. So since there are 2 triangles, you do 135*2=270.

Now we have to add the areas of the 4 triangles together. 270+378=648 cm. But the answer has to be in meters so the answer is 6.48 since 1 cm = 0.01 m.

Sorry for the long explanation, I was trying to show my work so you would understand!

Answer:

6.48m

Explanation:

If you look at the values, you'll notice that the top 2 triangles have the same values and the bottom 2 triangles have the same values.

Area(Kite)=Area(Top Triangles)+Area(Bottom Triangles)

Area(Kite)=Area(15*18cm)+Area(21*18cm) (You can plug it in like a rectangle since their is 2 of each triangle)

Area(Kite)=270cm+378cm

Area(Kite)=678cm

Don't forget they asked it in Meters not Centimeters!

So...

The area of the kite is 6.48m
