Explanation:

The diameter of the circular flower bed is 15 m and the length of the sidewalk round the flower bed is 3 m.

This means that an extra length of 3 m is added on each side.

The joint diameter of the flower bed and sidewalk is:

15 + 3 + 3 = 21 m

The radius is half of the diameter, that is 10.5 m

The area of the sidewalk is therefore:

A = pi * r²

Where r = radius

A = 3.14 * 10.5²

A = 346.19 m²
