We have a = 6m and b = 8m.

If they are perpendicular, we have that:

a = (6m, 0) b = (0, 8m)

The adition is:

a + b = (6m, 8m).

If they are parallel, we have;

a = (6m, 0)

b = (8m, 0)

a + b = (6m + 8m, 0) = (14m, 0 )

If they are parallel but opposite:

a = (6m, 0)

b = (-8m, 0)

a + b = (6m - 8m,0) = (-2m, 0)
