It is sometimes true. This is only true if the 2 numbers have a GCF of 1. For example, we have 2 and 4 or 15 and 25. Their LCMs are 4 and 75 respectively. However, 2 * 4 ≠ 4 and 15 * 25 ≠ 75. An example where this is true could be 5 and 7, whose LCM and product is 35. Hope this helps!
