Solve the following pair of linear equation using Cross multiplication

method
2x + 3y = 46; 3x + 5y = 74

Answer:

2x + 3y = 46

3x + 5y = 74

Multiply 1st equation by 3 and 2nd equation by 2:

6x + 9y = 138

6x + 10y = 148

Subtract 2nd equation to 1st equation:

=> y = 148 - 138 = 10

=> 2x + 3*10 = 46

=> 2x = 16

=> x = 8
