They came up with the MUSKET which gave them the advantage in close quarter fighting. They also came up with ARTILLERY PIECES and CANONS that enabled them to blast through walls which was very effective against fortified cities like Constantinople.

The Safavid empire with it's center in Iran benefitted much from trade between the Eastern and Western worlds. As a result there was a lot of cultural integration from the peoples engaged in trade that went through the empire. This enabled the Safavids to elevate Iran and make it a center of social and cultural factors such as POETRY, ART and PHILOSOPHY.

Standardisation of Weights and Measures.
The Mughal Empire in the time of Akbar I, standadized weights and measures across the empire which presided over a very large part of Southern Asia including India and Northern Afghanistan. These standadizations helped the empire accurately MEASURE LAND length and AGRICULTURAL OUTPUT to enable more efficient record keeping and wealth distributions.
Some units used were the 'GAZ' and 'BIGHA' for land and the 'MAN' for agricultural output.
