The Puck family of five are going to the movie theatre. The family consists of two adults and three children. The admission costs are $10.50 per adult and $6.50 per child.

Mr. Puck will buy each person a large drink and one tub of popcorn for everyone to share. He does not know the cost of food/drinks until he arrives at the theatre.

Write an expression that represents the admission price, popcorn, and drinks, for the whole family. Let d represent the cost for a large drink and let p represent the cost of the popcorn. The expression must include parentheses. Then simplify the expression by using the Distributive Property and combining like terms.

If a large tub of popcorn is $7.50 and large drinks are $6.00 each, how much did Mr. Puck spend at the movies?
