Sue bought two shirts on sale. She would have had to pay $55.00 for each shirt, but she got them for 5% off. What was the sale price of both shirts together?

Answer:The sale price of both t-shirts are $104.50

Step-by-step explanation: the 5% is the amount you need to deduct from the 55 dollars. To find the new price, you change the 5% to a decimal. 5% in its decimal form is .05. Now with this information, you multiply the price of the shirt (55) and the percent of (.05) and should get 2.75. Now, you would subtract 2.75 from 55 because of the sale percent off. This now leaves you with 52.25 dollars. Since you have bought two shirts, you would either multiply 52.25 by two or add 52.25 and 52.25. Either way get you 104.50 dollars to pay for the shirts. :)
