You have to use Pythagoras Theorem' , a² + b² = c². Then, substitute the following values into the formula :


{c}^(2) = {a}^(2) + {b}^(2)

Let a = AB = 6,

Let b = BC = 8,

Let c = ac,


{ac}^(2) = {6}^(2) + {8}^(2)


{ac}^(2) = 36 + 64


{ac}^(2) = 100


ac = √(100)


ac = 10metres
