Answer: y = 50mph*x + 7.5mi

Explanation:

This can be modeled with a linear equation:

y = a*x + b

Where y is the distance traveled

x is hours

a is the distance that he moves in one hour

b is the initial distance moved.

We know that he has gone 7.5 miles so far, so b = 7.5mi

we know that from this point, he can cover 50 miles per hour, so a = 50mph

Then the equation is:

y = 50mph*x + 7.5mi
