Explanation:

The residual is equal to the distance between our point and the predicted value.

Our point is (3, 10.5)

The predicted value when x = 3 is:

y(3) = -6.1*3 + 12.5 = -18.3 + 12.5 = -5.8

Now the difference betwen the data point and the predicted value is:

10.5 - (-5.8) = 16.3

So the residual is 16.3
