Paul Revere went thro the town telling every person in town to get up and to arm. He was saving others from the british. "If the british march my land or my sea from the town- to the night, Hang a latern aloft the beverly-arch of the north church tower, as a signal light, one if by land and two if by sea, and I on the oppisite shore, ready two ride through every Middlesex village and farm, for the country folk will to be up and to arm"

~Paul Revere

I hope that helps :)
