A gas currently occupies a volume of 21.5 liters at a pressure of 1.2 atm.

The gases temperature is unknown. However, when the gases volume is
reduced to 15.4 liters and the pressure is raised to 1.6 atm, the gases
temperature is at 350 K. What was the initial temperature of the gas in
Celsius? *

Answer: The combined gas law states that the pressure of a fixed mass of a gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature and inversely proportional to volume at constant environmental conditions.

That is p α T/V, Thus, considering two gases P1V1/T1 =P2V2/T2,

Thus, V2= P1V1T2/T1P2

hence , final volume = 1.5 x 15.4 x 268/ 310 x0.9

= 22.189 liters
