5(3 +4) - 2 would be simplified down first to

5(7) -2 because parentheses are the first thing you do in any equation like this.

35 -2 because multiplication and divison are next due to the fact there are no exponents

33 because subtraction is last. You then do the same to the other side.

7 -3 (-2 +11)

7 + -3(9) (you can change the minus three to a plus negative three to make the next step more clear)

7 + -27

-20

33 = -20
