Answer:

20

Explanation:

She has 5 types of candies

and 4 types of chocolates

If she randomly selects 1 chocolate ; she has 4 different options

then she selects 1 candy ; she has 5 different options

Therefore, she has 4 x 5 = 20 options

But, how ?

chocolates are => a,b,c,d

candies are => 1,2,3,4,5

she can select

(a,1)(a,2)(a,3)(a,4)(a,5) => 5 options

(b,1)(b,2)(b,3)(b,4)(b,5) => 5 options

(c,1)(c,2)(c,3)(c,4)(c,5) => 5 options

(d,1)(d,2)(d,3)(d,4)(d,5) => 5 options

therefore, 5 x 4 = 20 options

Hope this helps ^-^
