There are white, blue, and red boats in a marina. Two-thirds of the boats in the marina are white, 5/8

of the remaining boats are blue, and the rest are red. If there are 6 red boats, how many boats are in the marina?

Answer:

48

Explanation:

If 2/3 are blue, 1/3 are not, and if 5/8 of the rest are blue, 3/8 are red.

(3/8)(1/3) = 3/24 = 1/8

So, the 6 red boats are 1/8 of the total. If 1/8 is 6, then 8/8 is 48 total boats.

(1/8)b = 6

b = 6(8)

b = 48

I hope this helps!! :D
