A rectangle and triangle have the same area and the same base measurement. How does the height of the triangle compare to the height of the rectangle?

Answer:

Area of Triangle is calculated by:

AT = baseT x heightT x (1/2)

Area of Rectangle is calculated by:

AR = baseR x heightR

Given AT = AR, baseT = baseR

=> heightT x (1/2) = heightR

=> heightT = 2 x heightR

or

height of triangle is two times larger than height of rectangle
