Read the scenario and complete the statement about the patient interviewing method the doctor is using.

Doctor: So, what brings you into the office today?
Patient: My right elbow is bothering me.
Doctors How so?
Patient: There are times during the day that it just starts hurting terribly. I think I've even lost some strength in my right hand and arm. And sometimes, when I move my arm during the night, the pain is so intense that it wakes me up.
Doctor: Do you remember when you started experiencing these problems?
Patient: Yes. It started about two weeks ago, right around the time that I started tennis lessons.
Doctor: What did it feel like when you hurt it?
Patient I didn't really notice anything at first. The pain came on gradually.
Doctor: You don't realize how much you use your elbow in a day, until it starts hurting whenever you try to use it right?
Patient. That's the truth!

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, based on the questions the doctor is asking, he/she is trying to gather informations for the patients chief complaint and in order to narrow the list down to the present illness as well as fill in sections of the Health History Form. The fact that the doctor is repeating the patients words shows the effective listening technique called restatement.
