A and B returns the problem to the women, as if they are in some way guilty to the abuse by men. The problem is the attitude of men which is part of the society as a whole. So the most important question we (men & women) have to ask us is what we, as a society can do about it. Therefore it is C.

D is a less important question, but shedding light on the psychological, emotional and economic power men exercise over women in some unhealthy relationships is surely a topic that should be examined.
