Expand (2x – 4)2 using the square of a binomial formula.

Answer:

Wouldn't be 4x^2 - 16x + 16 if not please correct me!! :) it took me a long time to solve this! I kept on having to redo it! So I am not 100% sure this is right!

Explanation:

So first you have to know the formula:

If the expression is (x + y)^2 you would have x^2 + 2xy + y^2

So now you have (2x - 4)^2

2x^2 = 4x^2

2(2x)(-4) = -16x

-4^2 = 16

Add them together:

4x^2 - 16x + 16
