Ok. In order to answer this question, there are multiple ways in which we can approach this. The way I am going to do is substitution. Isolate the y in the second equation which gives you y=7+3x.

Now what you want to do is to plug in that equation into the first one.

-3x+3(7+3x)=-9.

-3x+21+9x=-9

6x=-30

x=-5,

Ok, now you need to solve the y variable.

So plug in the x variable into the second equation and solve for y.

y=-8
