40% are men

take 100%_40%=60% for women

equate if 60% =42 women therefore 100% will be

100%×42 divide by 60%=70 people

100%-40%=60%
The sixty percent is the percentage of women ,so
60%=42
100%=?
We cross multiply to get 100 times 42 divide by 60
The answer is 70 people
