Explanation:

Each time you flip the coin it has 2 outcomes (Heads or Tails) . Each time you pick a number it has 9 outcomes (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9). So it is asking if you flipped a coin and picked a random number (1-9) at the same time, for whatever reason, you would have 18 outcomes. This is because for every number (1-9) you pick it has 2 different sides of the coin it could land on and vive-versa. Basically, for every coin side there are nine numbers and for every number there are 2 sides.
