A company uses 1/4 of a barrel of chocolate chips to make each batch of granola bars. In one day, the company uses 3 1/2 barrels of chocolate chips to make granola bars. How many batches of granola bars did the company make in the day? Can anyone show me the method.

Answer:

14 times.

Explanation:

It is how many times 1/4 go in 3 1/2.

3 1/2 as an improper fraction is 7/2.

To make them have the same denominator, we have to change 7/2.

7 x 2 = 14

2 x 2 = 4

So, how many times does 1/4 go in 14/4?

14 times.
